Third conference of Community of Learning, Constituency Program of the Ministry of Finance of The Netherlands

It was an honour to host the third meeting of the Community of Learning on 29 and 30 September 2021. The National Academy for Finance and Economics organized an international, online conference on the developments and execution of trainings for financials in the public sector. The conference is sponsored by the Constituency Program of the Netherlands’ Ministry of Finance, which is a program for technical cooperation with the countries that share the Dutch constituencies at IMF, World Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Financial training institutes

The conference is part of an ongoing effort to assist constituency countries, and in particular their financial training institutes, to develop training courses and materials in the field of public financial management and share knowledge and expertise about this topic. Together with the National Academy, the training institutes of the constituency countries are part of a community of learning.

Participants shared their experiences on the efforts made to switch to online learning and later on to blended learning methods

Papers on topics

In this third edition of the conference, unsurprisingly, the new challenges the pandemic brought in the field of training were on the agenda. Participants shared their experiences on the efforts made to switch to online learning and later on to blended learning methods. The National Academy also issued a couple of papers prior to the conference. These papers focus on topics such as training need analysis, building curricula for internal audit, financial management and control and budget. These topics were discussed in an interactive way during the conference, where 40 participants attended.

We look back on two fruitful and interesting days, where many ideas for the future have been  exchanged.
